Week 9

Introduction

Week 9 was our work check. Kapi gave the green light that I was on track, which was reassuring. He did give me a few suggestions to improve the visuals. He pointed out that some of my images had too many clashing colours, and recommended using a grayscale filter with a hover effect to reveal the colour. That way, it’s more balanced and easier on the eyes. He also suggested that I keep a consistent ratio across all my images to avoid awkward spacing and make the layout look neater. Andreas mentioned that my page was too white and encouraged me to add some colour to bring more life to the overall design

Process

I jumped straight into working on the small details that were brought up during the check-in. I added the grayscale effect, and it turned out to be easier than I expected. I also really enjoyed using the newer CSS functions—having animation built in now saves me a lot of time compared to working with JavaScript.

Planning Ahead

At the same time, I was planning for my making and projection workshop. I had an idea to explore working with water, so I started looking up references online to see what kind of concepts or visuals I could possibly create.

Reflection

I’m glad to be on track. Having a formative check really gave me the chance to look back at all the work I’ve created so far and reflect on what I can improve. Getting a fresh pair of eyes on my project is something I always appreciate—good feedback pushes me to do better and think differently. I’m also excited for the upcoming workshops. I’m genuinely enjoying CID—it’s been fun seeing how technology and design can come together in such creative ways!
